This fork painted bears are simple and fun, allowing kids to use their creativity while developing fine motor skills. It’s a perfect activity to pair with the book, “I’m So Mad at That Bear!”.

Materials that you will need to complete this activity:
- Cardboard or heavy cardstock paper to paint on
- Paint
- Plastic Forks
- Cardstock paper to make the nose and ears
- Googly eyes *this is optional as eyes can be drawn on using the cardstock paper.
- Black marker
Trace a circle onto the cardboard using a stencil, or a bowl will work as well. Draw semi-circles on both sides of the bear’s head. This will be his ears. Then cut shapes out of the cardstock paper to create the ears and nose. (Semi-circles for the ears and a circle works well for the nose.)
Then kids can dip their forks into the paint and make prints around the bear’s face. Brown, black, or white paint creates more realistic bears; however, kids can feel free to use their imagination if they wish to see a blue or even a purple bear! *Use a paintbrush to paint the bear’s ears so that they have a more even appearance. (*While kids are waiting for the paint to dry, check out the game listed down below.)
Once the paint has dried, the kids can then glue on the ears and nose, as well as the googly eyes. However, if googly eyes are not available, then kids can cut ovals out of the cardstock and color them with a marker.
Easy peasy, teddy bear squeezy! And now the kids have a cute craft they can show off to the people they love.

Game:
Keep little ones entertained with this game of hot potato which has a ‘beary’ surprising twist.
Have kids sit or stand in a circle. Turn on some music and have the kids pass around a teddy bear. When the music stops, the one holding the bear is out. Keep going until only the winner remains.
However, you can add your own fun twists such as giving each child who gets out a small prize (think party favor type items). And then your winner could WIN the teddy bear as their prize.
Or you could even have the person who is holding the bear as the winner as opposed to everyone else playing.
You get to decide which way you want to play the game. But regardless of how you choose to play, there’s guaranteed to be plenty of smiles and perhaps even some giggles!

Your little ones can continue exploring and learning all about bears by coloring their very own bear scene. Not only is it a fun activity, but coloring helps develop fine motor skills and sparks creativity. And, of course, don’t forget to download your FREE coloring page, perfect for your bear loving little one.
